| A collection
of fossil plants made by late Professors A.K. Ghosh
and J.Sen from India and abroad (UK, USA, Brazil,
China) including those received by them as gift or in exchange,
structured the beginning of this museum. Later, the repository
has continuously been enriched through collections made by
Professors Manju Banerjee, Subir Bera and their associates
during fieldwork all over the country ranging through the
geological ages and also by the receipt in exchange of specimens
from abroad. The Holotype specimens, slidess and figured specimens
are systematically catalogued and stored which are available
for teaching as well as research. |
